Act of Remembrance November 2022
Act of Remembrance - Carterton War Memorial. Following the Service at St John's Church, the RAF Cadet Band together with a squadron of 30 personnel from RAF Brize Norton led the Parade back to the War Memorial. The first wreaths were laid by Councillor Nick Leverton, Mayor of Carterton Town Council and Ron Spurs, DL, followed by Group Captain Claire O'Grady, Station Commander RAF Brize Norton. Councillor Michele Mead laid the wreath on behalf of Robert Courts MP, whilst other civic dignitaries together with a large number of local groups and organisations laid their tributes. The Last Post and Reveille were superbly played by a bugler from the RAF Voluntary Band and poignant background music was provided by the Brize Norton Military Wives Choir. It was lovely to see around 2000 people from Carterton and the surrounding areas turn out to pay their respects to our fallen.
