U3A stands for the University of the Third Age, which is a self-help organisation for people no longer in full time employment providing educational, creative and leisure opportunities in a friendly environment.
Carterton U3A was conceived in 2008 when a small Steering Committee was formed under the Acting Chairmanship of Maxine Crossland, who was Town Mayor at the time.
Our monthly meeting is held in the main hall at the Carterton Community Centre on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 2:00pm. An interesting and informative talk or presentation is arranged for each main meeting covering a variety of topics. Updates are given on the progress of the various special interest groups.
