Carterton Diamond Jubilee Celebrations : All Day Edit 
  Carterton will be celebrating the Queens Diamond Jubilee on the weekend of 2nd and 3rd June 2012. Many events will be centered around the Alvescot Road Recreation Ground, including a Funfair, Pig Roast and Livestock Show, a Vintage Car Display, a Treasure Hunt, Bouncy Castle, Brass Band and lots of stalls and refreshments. There will also be a Cartertons Got Talent Competition, a 1950s Fashion Show, judging of the Jubilee Queen Competition and live music. Full details and a programme of events will be available nearer the time. Contact the Town Hall on 01993 842156 if you would like further information.  
 

June 3
Carterton Diamond Jubilee Celebrations : All Day Edit 
  Carterton will be celebrating the Queens Diamond Jubilee on the weekend of 2nd and 3rd June 2012. June 7
Repatriations : 4.15 p.m. Edit 
  We have been advised by RAF Brize Norton that the Repatriations of Cpl Michael John Thacker, from 1st Battalion, The Royal Welsh (The Royal Welch Fusiliers) and Pte Gregg Thomas Stone from 3rd Battalion, the Yorkshire Regiment, will take place on Thursday 7th June 2012. The plane will land at approx 1.30pm and the cortege will pass the Memorial Garden around 4.15pm, reaching the John Radcliffe Hospital around 5.00pm. Norton Way will be closed from approx 1.30pm, whilst Station Road, Brize Norton, will be closed for approximately 10 minutes once the cortege leaves Britannia Gate at RAF Brize Norton.  
 

Carterton Job Club : 9.30-11.00 a.m. Edit 
  The next Carterton Job Club session will be held at Carterton Town Hall on Thursday 7th June 2012. Come along to search for job vacancies, seek benefits advice, or update your CV. Refreshments available. Everyone welcome. Phone 01993 842156 with any queries.

Alvescot 2012 Village Fete : 2.00 to 4.30 pm Edit 
  Fun and games for all the family. As well as traditional attractions, this years fete has a sporting theme with opportunities to watch and join in various sports. Range of refreshments, raffle, bottle stall and much more besides. Village Playing Field. Entry £1.00 includes lucky programme.  
 

June 19
Planning & Council Meetings : 7.30 p.m. Edit 
  The next meeting of the Town Council Planning Committee will take place on Tuesday 19 June 2012 at 7.30 pm at the Carterton Town Hall, Alvescot Road, followed by the full Council Meeting at 7.45 pm. Members of the public and press are welcome to attend.  
 

June 21
Carterton Job Club : 9.30-11.00 am Edit 
  The next Carterton Job Club will take place on Thursday 21 June 2012 at 9.30 am at the Carterton Town Hall, Alvescot Road. Please come along to seek benefits advice, look at job vacancies in local newspapers and online, get help with your CV, and chat to others seeking employment.

Carterton Open Gardens & Scarecrow Trail : 1pm - 6pm Edit 
  Around 15 diverse gardens will be open over the weekend, from 1pm-6pm. Some gardens will feature refreshments, plant sales and even a teddy bears picnic trail. Tickets will be £4 (children under 16 free) available from the town hall or participating gardens on the day. The will also be a Scarecrow trail around the town being displayed in shop windows. Buy your entry form for a £1 from the town hall between 10am-6pm over the weekend. Prizes for the winning entries!! (Alternatively get an extended scarecrow trail free with your open gardens ticket)  
 

Summer Craft & Gift Fair : 10am - 4pm Edit 
  At Carterton Community Centre - Fantastic variety of local stalls selling beautiful and unique handcrafted items & other gifts. 23rd June, 10am – 4pm. Free admission & the cafe will be open. Perfect opportunity to pick up some great gifts!! Come along and see what you can find  
 

June 24

June 28
Temporary Road Closure : 6pm - 9pm Edit 
  Oxfordshire County Council have advised there will be a temporary road closure on Thursday 28th June 2012, 6pm to 9pm. along Norton Way, Brize Norton & Carterton. A dress rehearsal for the unveiling of the Memorial Bell Ceremony is taking place during the above times and, in the interests of public safety, a temporary road closure is being implemented. This closure is the same as that which normally operates during a Repatriation on a Thursday, and which is contained in a Permanent Traffic Regulation Order. Appropriate signage is being displayed on site to indicate the closure, and to give advance notice of it coming into force. Further information may be obtained by telephoning Steve Phillips on 01865 810421.
